Who we are

We're the Pathfinders Task Force, a disaster response team -- when something big happens, we're on the scene within 24 hours collecting data and creating damage reports for other arriving responders and volunteers. For the last 10 years we’ve been pioneering technology solutions to help save lives & better involve the local populace in an affected area.

What's it all mean?

We love helping people, and we want to continue doing it. We hope that you'll enjoy using GeoCrowd as much as we do, and we hope it helps make your life easier and less cluttered. Who knows, maybe you'll even want to help us out at a disaster too.

What is GeoCrowd?

GeoCrowd helps you share experiences with your friends and family by turning the world into your personal map.
You can use GeoCrowd anywhere in the world to post a note or photo to the map for your friends and family to see. You can choose who to share your location with or let the whole world see what you're doing!

Why use it?

Have you ever lost your friends in a big crowd? Seeing something so totally awesome that your buddies need to be there to see too? Making a long roadtrip? We made GeoCrowd so that your friends and family can keep in touch and get all the information they need from a simple, uncluttered map.

Where we've been

We’ve been responding to disasters pretty much everywhere across the world, especially in the last 3 years. We worked with the United Nations in Haiti after the earthquake, conducting mass feeding operations. We were at the BP Gulf Oil Spill for 9 months helping to find oil and distressed wildlife. We were even in Japan after the 2011 Tsunami and Earthquake. Check out The Eagles Wings Foundation for more info about where we’ve been and what we’ve done.

How you fit in

GeoCrowd is both a social app and a way for us to test our disaster response software as we continue to develop it. Bugs we find in GeoCrowd could go a long way towards saving lives in real disasters. We also depend on volunteers to help us accomplish our humanitarian goals. If you're interested in deploying with us when the time comes, become a volunteer today!

Why did we make this app?

Our cause is humanitarian. For instance, after the Haitian earthquake we used an earlier version of GeoCrowd to assess damage and mark the locations of special needs organizations for the United Nations to deliver supplies. All in all, we distributed over 2,500,000 meals to survivors in just 8 days.

Using Geocrowd helps others!

GeoCrowd is an app that's very much still in development and we need your help finding bugs. By downloading and using our app, you are directly helping us continually stress-test and debug the system. Keeping our system running at peak condition will ensure that everything works properly when we deploy to a disaster zone. Find out some specific ways you can use GeoCrowd! If you're feeling particularly adventurous, sign up today to be added to our ever growing list of Pathfinder Volunteers, and join us when we deploy!
